Refund & Caution Deposit Policy

Last updated: 25 April 2026

This policy explains how refunds work at Darshan Heritage Living — for trial stays, monthly residency charges and refundable caution deposits.

1. Refundable caution deposit

Every long-stay resident pays a refundable caution deposit at onboarding. The deposit is held interest-free and is refunded in full within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of discharge or vacating the suite, after deducting (a) any unpaid invoices, (b) the documented cost of repair to the suite beyond fair wear and tear and (c) any other amounts expressly agreed in your resident agreement.

A written deposit-return statement is shared with the resident or the named family member within fifteen (15) days of vacating. The actual bank transfer is initiated within ninety (90) days of vacating, to the resident's registered Indian bank account.

2. Monthly residency charges

Monthly residency charges are billed in advance and are non-refundable for the month in which the resident chooses to leave, except where the resident vacates due to a medical inability certified in writing by the on-campus medical officer. In such cases a pro-rata refund is processed within thirty (30) days.

3. Trial stay bookings

  • Cancellations more than seven (7) days before check-in: 100% refund of trial stay fee, less payment-gateway charges.
  • Cancellations between two (2) and seven (7) days before check-in: 50% refund or full credit toward a future trial stay within 90 days.
  • Cancellations within forty-eight (48) hours of check-in or no-shows: no refund. Credit toward a future trial stay is at the management's discretion.
  • Trial stay fees are fully adjustable against any plan booked within ninety (90) days of completing the trial.

4. Founders Circle (5-year deposit-only plan)

Residents under the 5-year Founders Circle plan pay a single refundable caution deposit and no monthly residency fee. The deposit is governed by the same 90-day refund window described in Section 1, calculated from the date of discharge or vacating, regardless of whether the resident leaves before the 5-year term completes.

5. Optional services & add-ons

Optional services (in-suite kitchen, compact fridge, specialist sessions, guest stays, etc.) are billed only when used. Pre-paid add-ons that are unused at the time of vacating are refunded in the deposit-return statement.

6. Force majeure & medical emergencies

In the event of a documented medical emergency, demise of the resident, or any force majeure event preventing continued stay, the management will work with the family in good faith and process the deposit refund within the 90-day window with appropriate compassion in deductions.

7. How to request a refund

Send a written request to contact@darshanheritage.com from the registered email address of the resident or the named family contact, including the resident name, suite number, vacating date and bank account for the refund.

8. Disputes

Any dispute regarding refunds will first be resolved through good-faith discussion. If unresolved, the dispute will be referred to a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration at Karur, Tamil Nadu. Courts at Karur shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
